Alumni Office Staff

Have you ever wondered who those people in the Alumni Office are, and what they do?

Marianne Ward, Director

Marianne directs activities for the Alumni and Constituent Relations Office, the Missouri S&T Parents Association, and works closely with the Miner Alumni Association, which represents more than 47,000 graduates of Missouri S&T and the University of Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy.  Marianne also directs operational and financial activities for the Alumni Office, manages the annual fund direct mail campaign, recruits volunteers, and serves as a communication link between alumni, students, and campus organizations.  She also assists in organizing and developing public support for campus operations and facilities.

Assistant Director (vacant)

The assistant director handles such jobs as planning Homecoming and the Golden Alumni Reunion, managing the alumni association's Annual Fund campaign, managing the association's programs (including the Online Community and web site, credit card, license plates, merchandise and alumni directory), answering correspondence, and coordinating special projects and events. He/She supports the alumni association's Alumni Communications, Athletic Study, Fund Raising, Reunions, Student & Young Alumni Relations, and Program Planning Committees.

Elaine Russell, Coordinator

Elaine serves as a liaison between the alumni office and the alumni sections, coordinating all off-campus section events and activities throughout the country and world-wide. She supports the Missouri S&T Parents' and Guardians' Association, the Student Council Parent and Alumni Relations committee, plus the Traveling Miners program, in addition to handling the alumni association's Diversity, Faculty/Staff/Volunteer Relations, Sections, Jackling Fund, Student Recruitment and Student Financial Assistance committees.

Renee Stone, Accountant

Renee handles the alumni and parents association accounting and financial work, as well as office purchasing. She coordinates the Educational Assistant Program, handles questions regarding gifts to the alumni association, manages the association's cash flow, reconciles the alumni scholarships, and helps with special events.

Shannon Roark

Shannon Roark, Administrative Assistant

Shannon handles the administrative duties for the office, handles the alumni association scholarship program, coordinates mailings, serves as staff support for the director and assistant director, and coordinates alumni association board meetings. He also handles the details for several events such as the Grad Finale and the Scholarship Luncheons, manages the student and volunteer workers, and maintains the office "to do list", making sure everything gets done on time.

Secretary(vacant)

The secretary greets all office visitors, handles incoming gifts for the alumni association, and is the secretarial support for the Missouri S&T Parents' and Guardians' Association. He/she also provides secretarial support for the office, assists with supervision of students and volunteers, and works on special events.
